Loft Steps™ may fit on some metal beds depending on their design and size. (However they will not fit or work on round metal bed rails).
One way to find out if your university has standard wooden bed frames is to simply call the residence hall/housing department at the university.

Loft Steps™ are made in the USA and their unique design is intrinsically strong. They have been tested on a standard 3/4" thick bed frame using 250 pounds of weight and they did not break or crack.
